Improving Wales Coastal Path Access – TheFDF is working with community, cycling, disability, council, and access partners to improve wheelchair and mobility scooter access to the Wales Coastal Path. After eight years of campaigning, most Flintshire barriers are gone, but more work is needed to meet Equality Act 2010 requirements.
More Accessible Toilets – North Wales has too few accessible toilets. TheFDF and TCC partners are campaigning for more Changing Places facilities but need suitable 24/7 sites and local authority support for upkeep, maintenance, and cleaning.
Tackling Poverty and Cost of Living – The cost-of-living crisis hits disabled people and their families especially hard because of higher energy, equipment, laundry, and bathing costs. Through the Wrexham Poverty Action Collaboration, TheFDF and partners are urging decision makers to strengthen poverty support.
Representing Disabled People – Through TCC and Disability Wales, TheFDF Chief Officer Jan represents North Wales with government, community, and support groups. TheFDF also supports wider campaigns, including the Disability Rights Action Plan for disabled children, young people, and adults.
